How to Use Trail Blazer

Create a Follow Rig

1. Select 2 or more layers (first selected = Leader)
2. Click the Trail Blazer button
3. Layers are linked, effect controls are added

Remove Followers from a Rig

1. Select only follower layers (not the leader)
2. Click the Trail Blazer button
3. Followers are unlinked

Leader Controls

• Delay: Time between followers
• Delay Units: Frames or Seconds
• Falloff: Compounds delay over the chain (100% = linear, higher = more staggered, lower = less staggered)
• Scale Offset: Cumulative scale change per follower
• Rotation Offset: Cumulative rotation change per follower
• Relative to Leader: 
  • Enabled: Followers keep their original transforms but still inherit the leader's
  • Disabled: Followers inherit leader's transforms
• Follow Position / Scale / Rotation / Opacity / Anchor Point: Toggle which properties followers inherit

Follower Controls

Each follower has individual overrides:

• Index: Position in chain (1, 2, 3...)
• Delay Multiplier: Offset this follower's delay 
• Influence: Blend between original and followed value (0-100%)

Tips

• Great for trailing particles, staggered reveals, or snake-like motion
• Use Relative mode when you want followers to move with the leader but maintain their own positions
• Adjust Falloff above 100% for increasingly dramatic delays down the chain
• Animate Influence to blend followers in and out of the rig
